その昔、年上の日本のテクノ業界の人といっしょに働いていた時、そのプログレ上がりの人が「テクノはインテリの白人が作る知性的な音楽」と言ったので、「Jeff MillsやDerrick Mayとか黒人ですやん」と言い返したら、真顔で「彼らは白人側の黒人なんだよ」と言った。これ実話。
やっぱりこういう感覚っていうのが日本のテクノ業界での言説の中に確かにあったんだよね。おれも、テクノファンだって言ってるヤツに「ハウスとテクノってどう違うの？」ってアホ面して聴いたら、「ハウスって言うのは、探求心ていうか向上心がない音楽」って言い腐りやがった。
